PRACTICAL TRAINING
In Zürich's independent performance, dance and theater scene there is a lack of competent production managers. There is still no training programme that takes into account the specific conditions of the independent scene when it comes to production. Particularly practice-oriented training and further education is very important for entering the professional field of production management. In order to close this educational gap, artFAQ now offers RUNDLAUF, an assistance program that lasts for an entire theater season and complements the other assistance programs of artFAQ.
With RUNDLAUF you will gain insight into 4 - 5 different institutions of the independent scene over an entire theater season (10 months) and actively work in the area of production. In the course of the year, you will take on more and more responsibility until you finally lead a first production on your own. The goal of RUNDLAUF is to train a person who will remain in the independent scene in the Zürich region and who will be able to support various artists and groups in the area of production in the future. artFAQ offers for the period from August 19, 2024 to June 27, 2025 in cooperation with various institutions and independent production managers, the 10-month production assistance RUNDLAUF in collaboration with various institutions and freelance production managers.
Depending on the projects, the workload will fluctuate during this period.

RUNDLAUF gives you valuable insights into two different independent theater institutions and the work of two experienced production managers and their groups over the course of an entire theater season (10 months). You will work actively in the production department. You will be supported by the experienced production managers of the respective institution, who will involve you in all relevant production steps, from concept and fundraising to project implementation with touring and diffusion work, right through to project completion. In regular meetings, artFAQ fills in gaps in knowledge and acts as a link to the partners.
Participating institutions and production managers are: TanzPlan Ost, ZÜRICH TANZT and the freelance production managers Laeticia Blättler/Criptonite and Rabea Grand.
YOUR TASKS
As a production assistant, you will gain insights and knowledge in the following areas:
- Insight into the dossier and budget for financing production
- Personnel planning and personnel administration: contracts, benefits accounting, withholding tax
- Communication at the interface between artistic direction, artists and technology
- Accommodation, travel planning and booking, entry and work visas
- Contact with international event organizers
- Communication, public relations and social media
- Networking, contact with foundations and public funding bodies
- Hands-on tasks: Running errands and individual assignments in the evening

YOUR PROFILE
- You are interested in the profession of production management and would like to work professionally in the independent scene on a long-term basis.
- You already have some experience in setting up and organizing independent dance, theater or performance projects and would now like to deepen this experience.
- You are responsible and want to learn how to position projects successfully.
- You are not afraid of a project whose working language is English.
- The aim of RUNDLAUF is to train a person who will remain part of the independent scene in the Zurich region and who will be able to support various artists and groups in the field of production in the future. Gross salary CHF 2200/month

PRODUCTION ASSISTANCE RUNDLAUF 50 %
The RUNDLAUF assistance of the 23/24 season is carried out in collaboration with the independent production managers Lukas Piccolin and Rabea Grand as well as the following partners:
